Serving the Dallas / Ft. Worth Metroplex and beyond since 2014

Q: Is What You're Doing Legal?
A: Yes it is! In September of 2011 the Texas legislature passed the Cottage Food Law allowing home bakers to produce and sell specific items made in their homes.  In September of 2013 the law was expanded on allowing cottage food producers more places to sell their goods and a slightly wider, yet still limited list of goods that can be sold. I am registered with Denton County as a business and I carry liability insurance.

Q: Do you have a storefront?
A:  No. We are a boutique cake studio specializing in wedding, grooms and celebration cakes and cupcakes. Our consultations are by appointment only.
Q: Why can't I order on your website?
A:  All of our items are custom made and designed for each client. In addition, Texas Cottage Food Law prohibits internet sales.
Q: Can I order and pay for something locally and have you ship it?
A: Sorry, the cottage food law strictly prohibits shipping goods within or out of Texas.
Q: Do you have a minimum requirement for cake orders?
A: We have a $75.00 minimum on celebration cakes, $250.00 minimum on all wedding cakes & $200.00 on sculpted cakes.
Q: Do you do consultations/tastings?
A: Yes.  Consultations/tastings are for wedding cakes only and are by appointment only.  Due to the nature of our business, we do not have a space in our studio at this time for consultations/tastings.  Consultations are primarily held at the
Panera Bread in Denton. We can also make arrangements to meet at any of the DFW area Panera Breads. At your consultation you will receive a "tasting box" which contains 4 flavors of cake and 4 flavors of our most popular fillings to take home and sample at your leisure. Consultations are $25.00 which is credited back to you when you secure your date within 7 days of your consultation.  Dates are secured by a $200.00 non-refundable, date retainer.
Q: What should I bring with me to my consultation?
A: Any pictures or inspiration pieces (lace, ribbon, material etc) and colors for the wedding. It is also important to know how many servings you will be needing and what your budget is.
Q: I am not having a wedding, how can I taste your cakes?
A: We offer "tastings-to-go" which is a small sampling of 4 of our most popular flavors of  cake and filling/icing that you can order and pick up.  Tasting boxes are available for $20.00.
Q: I wanted to get a cheesecake for my party, do you make these?
A: As a cottage food provider I cannot make any items that require refrigeration such as cream pies, custard pies, cheesecakes, tres leche cakes or any other items that the State of Texas has classified as a potentially hazardous food.  So basically, if you need to keep it cool, we cannot make it for you.
Q: How far in advance should I place my order?
A: We book all our cakes on a first-come, first reserved basis. It is suggested that you reserve your date as soon as you know you will be needing a cake.  Because of our size, we only take a limited amount of orders each week.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A:  Yes, a deposit of 50% is required on all NON BRIDAL orders.  Your order is not put in the appointment book until a deposit has been received.  You will receive an electronic receipt from me as well, outlining all of the details of your order.  Orders placed with less than 2 weeks notice require payment in full.
Q: Do you charge sales tax?
A: No.  Because I do not sell individual items for immediate consumption, I am not required to collect sales tax on any cake product.  I do collect sales tax on candy items.
Q: What forms of payment do you take?
A: My preferred method of payment is via square payments (electronic invoice), but I do accept cash, checks, credit cards/debit (Visa/MC/Discover/Amex)
Q: Do you deliver? Is there a charge?
A: Yes I deliver. In fact, I highly recommend having your cake delivered. It is the best way to insure that your cake arrives safely.  Delivery for Celebration/Party cakes within the Denton/Corinth city limits is free.  Outside of Denton/Corinth is an additional charge that can be added to your order.  Wedding cakes are a flat fee of $50 for Denton County venue's and $100 for outside of Denton County.
